Dr. Sally Rastani received
her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley
School of Optometry in 2007. She also holds her B.S. degree in
Biology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Her optometry training included clinical rotations through the Kaiser
Permanente Point West Center in Sacramento, the Southern Oregon VA Clinic
in White City, and the Omni Eye Service Centers of New Jersey and New
York. While interning at these eye care clinics, Dr. Rastani gained
experience in diagnosing, treating, and managing ocular diseases such
as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, uveitis, and
corneal complications. She was trained to evaluate ocular conditions
in a wide variety of age groups, from pediatrics to the elderly, and
provide post-operative care for procedures such as cataract extraction
and LASIK refractive surgery. During her clinical rotations, Dr.
Rastani was able to observe cataract surgeries, corneal transplants,
retinal detachment repairs, and eyelid repairs. She also has experience
fitting various contact lenses, including toric designs for astigmatistm,
bifocal, and monovision contact lenses. She is happy to share
her knowledge of the latest contact lens materials and designs with
her patients. Dr. Rastani is involved with community outreach
programs to provide eye care to those in need such as Project Homeless
Connect in San Francisco. She is also a member of the California
Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Rastani has recently married and moved back to Sacramento with her husband. She looks forward to providing your eye care needs through comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings at Dr. Adair’s offices. Dr. Rastani offers eye exams in both English and Persian languages.
